Climate leaders meet in Copenhagen ahead of COP31
This week, Copenhagen brought together climate ministers and senior leaders from across the world for the Copenhagen Climate Ministerial – an important early milestone on the road to COP31 in Türkiye later this year.
As geopolitical uncertainty, economic pressures, and energy security concerns continue to reshape global priorities, maintaining momentum on climate action is becoming both more complex and more urgent. The Ministerial provides a space to align on ambition and focus on what it will take to translate commitments into action.
And action requires conversation across borders and sectors alike.
On Wednesday, State of Green had the pleasure of hosting a morning roundtable session in House of Green, convening senior government representatives and business leaders from Brazil, Türkiye, Australia, and Denmark. The discussion centred on how to stay the course on climate action heading into COP31 and beyond – with a particular focus on the need to push back against rising myths and misinformation around the green transition, and on the role of public-private partnerships in leading the way.
The following day, we also had the pleasure of hosting the NDC Partnership’s steering group, whose work connects national climate commitments with subnational and local action, for a walk and talk through Nordhavn. Together with representatives from the City of Copenhagen, Rambøll and CONCITO, the group explored how former industrial areas are being transformed through adaptive reuse, energy-efficient buildings and high-quality public spaces.
These conversations are just the beginning of what is set to be yet another decisive year for global climate action.
COP31 will be yet another opportunity to share and discuss the green solutions needed to reach both national and global climate targets. Once again, State of Green, Danish Industry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities will join forces to lead the Denmark Pavilion – a platform for high-level discussions, knowledge sharing and partnership building across the public and private sectors.
